re:imagine/ATL

Julie is an advocate for young people, working to implement programs that bring youth from diverse backgrounds together to create change in their communities. As Program Director of Atlanta-based nonprofit, re:imagine/ATL, Julie develops curriculum for young storytellers, evaluates programs & strategies, & oversees the production of digital content.

After receiving her Masters in Public Health from Emory University & becoming a Certified Health Education Specialist, Julie began working for the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention. There, she combined her expertise in public health with her experience in filmmaking & pioneered the Center’s first video contest for the public.

In 2014, Julie started her work with re:imagine/ATL and has been instrumental in developing its innovative approach to media arts education. Julie’s work at re:imagine/ATL is truly her dream job-she gets to work in community using film for social change with passionate teens from different walks of life.
