Julian Cancino
Julián Cancino is an accomplished manager, educator, and community leader committed to education access, social justice and economic opportunity. Since 2006, Julián has worked collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and funders to support underserved populations at institutions of higher education. At UC Berkeley, he established a resource center for first generation, low-income, and undocumented students.
At the Office of Student Affairs at Tufts University, Julian led institutional initiatives related to diversity, inclusion, and belonging. He then joined the Trinity Boston Foundation to support the growth of a mentorship program ambitiously expanding to serve all students in Boston Public Schools.
Julián is cofounder of FAMILIA: Trans Queer Liberation Movement; Rising Immigrant Scholars through Education; and the Boston chapter of the National Asian Pacific Islander American Women’s Forum. An out and proud transgender immigrant, Julián is a graduate of UC Berkeley.
