The Pioneer Initiative

Nicole is a teen entrepreneur from the Bay Area, California who is experienced in marketing, nonprofit fundraising, and educating. Nicole has been involved with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through running a fundraising campaign to raise over $15,000 for the cause, creating a training workshop for candidates, and mentoring teams through the fundraising process. She founded her own nonprofit, the Pioneer Initiative, to provide educational entrepreneurship opportunities to socioeconomically disadvantaged youth. Through an entrepreneurship incubator program, Nicole co-founded Adeona, a personal safety app that used public police data and GPS navigation to help users stay away from high crime areas. She returned to the program as an intern to teach classroom sessions, lead activities, and mentor teams throughout the entrepreneurial process. Through her experience as a student and an educator, Nicole has gained valuable insight into the learning process of young innovators.
