National Museum of African American History and Culture

Christopher Williams, Ph.D., works as a STEM Education Specialist at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of African American History and Culture. He tells the unknown and forgotten stories of the contributions of African Americans in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) by creating STEM activities, lessons, and professional development workshops for K-12 students and teachers. The combination of history and STEM practices & principles creates unique learning opportunities designed to be exciting and educational.

Christopher holds a Ph.D. in Biology from Georgetown University and a B.S. in Biology from Frostburg State University. After receiving his Ph.D., Chris was a fellow at the National Institutes of Health and was also awarded a AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellowship at the National Science Foundation.
