Chandra Garcia-Kitch
Chandra Garcia-Kitch is currently a Third Grade classroom teacher at William H. Ray School, a Chicago Public School. She has taught grades K-8 on the south and west sides of Chicago for the last 18 years. She has reasons that each grade is her favorite. Chandra holds seats on the Instructional Leadership Team, ASPEN support team, Battelle for Kids support team, is the lead teacher for the Garden Committee/ Eat What You Grow team and for Pilot Light for Ray School. She is a National Board Certified teacher for Middles Grades. In addition, she has been a building Science Specialist (responsible for training teachers and providing classroom support for Science Instruction), and an MTSS coordinator and specialist. She has also led regional professional development for the Lawrence Hall of Science FOSS curriculum. Currently, Chandra is the Teacher representative on the Pilot Light Board of Directors. She has been integrating Pilot Light into her classroom instruction for 6 years.
