Briona Jenkins
Recently given the title, “The love child of Oprah, Beyonce, and Michelle Obama”, Briona Jenkins is an activist for the LGBTQ+, female, and people of color communities. Originally from Connecticut, Bri’s involvement in extracurricular activities revealed her leadership skills. She completed her undergraduate education as a Sociology major with a concentration in Social Work at Albertus Magnus College. Since 2012, Bri has worked at nonprofit organizations with a wide variety of individuals, including people with developmental disabilities and people experiencing homelessness. She now works in development at an organization that serves LGBTQIA+ youth and young adults. Bri is involved in the Austin community, serving on the boards of Keep Austin Fed and Austin Black Pride, speaking on panels all around town, and co-hosting a podcast called Queer For It. She recently completed New Leaders Council six-month institute and signed on as the Co-Director of the Austin Chapter’s Board.
