Pamela Paek

Principal Research Scientist

Pamela Paek has her Ph.D. in Education from the University of California, Berkeley. She is the only three-time recipient of the Harold Gulliksen fellowship, which awards thought leadership in innovation for K-12 education. Dr. Paek has been working in schools across the nation since 1996 to improve mathematics teaching and learning. Through that work, she realized how much social emotional learning needs to be at the core for students to be intrinsically motivated and focused, which are requirements for high achievement and success in school, college, and career. Dr. Paek has worked directly with over tens of thousands of students and thousands of teachers in classrooms during the school year and in summer programs, especially in the most underserved communities (high poverty, high crime, the most marginalized populations). She co-creates solutions with district and school partners by using design thinking to increase buy-in and long term transformation in K-12 public schools.
