Rohny Escareño
Rohny Escareño is the Edcouch-Elsa Independent School District (EEISD) Math Innovation Zones (MIZ) Project Manager and Mathematics Specialist. He has worked at Edcouch-Elsa High School (EEHS) since 2008 as a college readiness specialist and mathematics teacher, teaching SAT & ACT Readiness, Precalculus, Geometry, and AP Statistics. He has also served as the Mathematics Department Chair since 2011.
He has 6 years of experience implementing aspects of blended learning into Algebra I Intervention, Geometry, and AP Statistics courses and teaching a flipped UT Austin OnRamps Statistics course.
Rohny earned his B.A in Visual and Environmental Studies from Harvard University and his M.Ed. in Mathematics Education Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. His professional interests include educational technology integration, statistics education, school improvement, and empowering Hispanic and undeserved student populations in education.
