Amy Schwartzbach

Amy grew up in a family of science professors, but never thought of herself as a “science person.” After a brief stint in the world of advertising, she flung herself into teaching, where she found her heart and her voice. Amy worked in Chicago Public Schools for over a decade, and achieved National Board Certification “Master Teacher” status.
Amy earned a M.Ed. in Instructional Curriculum and Design, a M.Ed. in Educational Literacy, and she is a certified Learning Specialist understanding specific learning needs of diverse learners. Amy has been a featured speaker at literature conferences helping other teachers incorporate interactive literacy strategies into their classrooms.
She currently serves as an education consultant and creates content for The Laboratory Collective to bring literature to life using science. She creates programs to enhance reading comprehension, critical-thinking, and collaboration skills.
