Yolian Ogbu
Yolian Ogbu is a first-generation, Eritrean-American studying political science and communications. She is currently serving as the youngest SGA president in UNT history on the first all-women of color ticket no less. An organizer at heart, Yolian is also on the National Women’s March 2019 Youth Empower Committee and works within her cohort to increase the wave of civic engagement in young women across the country. As a first-gen American and college student, she spent so much time trying to find a mold to fit in university but realized that it’s time American’s higher education system should work to fit her intersecting identities. Yolian now works to empower her fellow peers to make the changes we wish to see
