Eliot Levine is the Aurora Institute’s Research Director and leads the CompetencyWorks blog. He has led local, state, and national studies of educational programs at the University of Massachusetts and Harvard University. His work has been disseminated in academic and trade journals, research and evaluation reports, and a book that was named a “Best Book for High School Reform” by the Gates Foundation and published in three languages.

Eliot was a teacher for seven years at innovative public high schools in the Big Picture Learning and EL Education networks. He holds a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Maryland and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in program evaluation at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
