Holly Carter
Pulitzer Prize–nominated journalist and nonprofit leader Holly Ornstein Carter founded BYkids in 2007 as a platform for youth from around the world to create documentaries that nurture empathy, spark conversations and inspire a new generation of changemakers. Today, these films reach 83 million households in partnership with public television, and their supporting educational resources are distributed to middle and high schools across the United States through PBS LearningMedia and Discovery Education. Previously, following a successful career in journalism at the New York Times, Holly led the Global Film Initiative and co-founded North Carolina's Full Frame Festival, the world's largest documentary film festival.
Holly lives in Manhattan with her husband and has two daughters.
