As a former employee of the NYC Dept. Of Corrections, rapper and now Professor in Criminal Justice, Jonathan Cabrera will dive into what is known as the “school-prison pipeline." Through rap performance, research, and examples, he will break down what the school-prison pipeline is, its design, why it exists, and how to usurp it by incorporating a more culturally inclusive learning environment in the classroom. Jonathan will get in-depth and also involve audience members in dialogue and Q&A.
