Bridging Opportunity Gaps with AI & Tutors
Inequalities in learning outcomes are especially severe in math, a key gateway for 21st century jobs. Personalized instruction has been shown to bridge these opportunity gaps, but the human resource costs are very high. We are combining advanced AI-driven adaptive learning software with human tutors to personalize math learning in Pittsburgh-area public schools. Our effort may lead to culturally responsive, cost effective ways of narrowing these opportunity gaps across the nation.
