Last Mile to Last Cell: Online Education in Prison

This presentation provides details on how one institution expanded its fifty-five-year history in correctional education by bringing it into the 21st century via distance education technology to over 3,000 students in 10 states. The presentation will include academic and correctional stakeholder insights about the benefits and challenges of expanding online education in prisons. Prisons impose limitations but these have been overcome by fresh approaches to technological and pedagogical integration.
