Instruction & PL Inclusive of EL Student Needs

EL-designated students have tremendous academic potential and provide a richness to the educational tapestry. However, they are often an ‘afterthought’ in many instructional decisions. They deserve access to grade-level rigorous content, but what does this actually look like in materials and professional development? This workshop is designed for anyone who wants to ensure their instructional approach is inclusive of EL students. Participants will deconstruct current design practices through an equity lens and receive concrete guidance and tools to assess and refine their materials and PD offerings.

Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
