Blackout: The Miseducation of Black Girls
The sexual objectification of black girls' hair, skin, and body may have later academic and social implications that are often overlooked and unexplored. This session will provide participants with a clear understanding of how the education system has contributed to existing stereotypes of the black female as angry and sexual beings by the enforcement of unfair dress and hair code policies and the implementation of inequitable discipline practices for violations of these policies.
