Civics on the Legislative Slate
Civic ed is on the brink of revival. Led by a growing movement for legislation that requires civics and makes it relevant to today’s youth, more than 80 bills pushing for better civics were brought before state legislatures this past year. Federal legislation may soon follow. This panel with CivXNow, a coalition of more than 100 orgs calling for better civics, will look at what’s happened so far, what’s next, and what we can learn from states that have already passed new laws.
