This session integrates two powerful frameworks: The Third Teacher and Universal Design for Learning (UDL). The concept of The Third Teacher is a collection of time-tested space design strategies to enhance student engagement and teacher efficacy. Add in the natural alignment with the UDL framework, and you have a roadmap to understand the true power of active learning spaces and choice in students’ lives. Brought to you by a national think tank of designers, educators and leaders, this workshop explores how environment directly affects shaping student attitudes, dispositions and outcomes. Attendants will leave the session able to apply these tools towards space and design tactics within their own classrooms.
