Akiea Gross

Akiea is an Instructional Coach, former Kindergarten Teacher and creative entrepreneur who believes in designing a more inclusive, equity and empathy-driven world through education, music and the arts. Akiea’s teaching experiences led her to create #BlackTeachersMatter and found Equitable Schools, Inc., a nonprofit on a mission to equip, empower and mobilize the community to improve equity in schools. She is also the creator and producer of the inclusive, intimate concert series Sisters Unsigned, which amplifies the voices of independent women, non binary and QTPOC artists and creatives of all genres. She’s currently management and songwriter for her partner, R&B/Soul artist Sonic, who is performing at SXSW on March 16th.
