Josie Duckett McSpadden leads communications for the US Program of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Together with grantees, the US program works to improve public education across a full spectrum: from early learning, to K-12, to postsecondary and college completion.
A certified teacher in Texas, Josie earned a master's in journalism from Georgetown University, and a master's in national security from the Naval War College. Prior to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Josie was a writing teacher in San Antonio, TX and worked on press relations for the Peace Corps, State Department, and The White House.
