Sona Shah
Sona Shah is a second generation South Asian American born and raised in Houston, TX. She received her undergraduate degree in Asian Studies from the University of Texas at Austin and her masters in International Development and Social Change from Clark University. Sona spent the last seven years overseeing programs and administration at UT’s Center for Asian American Studies, the only Asian American Studies program in the South. She also taught a college-level service learning course in Asian American Studies and Social Work at UT Austin. Sona recently became the new Culture & Arts Education Manager at the City of Austin’s Asian American Resource Center where she oversees diverse educational and community programs.
