Celia Sims
Celia Hartman Sims is the Vice President of Government Relations for KinderCare. She leads the company’s advocacy work, ensuring government policies and programs benefit all children, regardless of background or economic status. Before KinderCare, she was at the New America Foundation, where she served as a director and successfully launched the Postsecondary National Policy Institute. Throughout her career, Sims worked on education policy and legislation and served as an advisor and negotiator on important federal education legislation, including the Head Start Act, the Child Care and Development Block Grant, and the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. She also worked as a senior policy advisor to US Senator Richard Burr of North Carolina, and for the U.S. Department of Education.
