MJ Korpela

MJ Korpela is the Family Services Director at Mainspring Schools, one of the leading early childhood education centers for at-risk children in Texas. Based in Austin, MJ oversees Mainspring’s trauma-informed intervention program, focusing on secure attachment and overcoming the effects of trauma on development and learning. She also directs the nonprofit school’s family services program, which includes parent education, support groups, short-term counseling, case management and community building. Throughout her career, MJ has worked primarily in mental health crisis response and treatment with woman and children. She earned her BA in Psychology from the University of Minnesota and is finalizing her MA in Counseling Psychology from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.
