Jeremiah D. Gunderson, is Director of Student Veteran Services for the University of Texas at Austin. He oversees the operation of the Student Veteran Services office, serving both the campus and Austin communities. Jeremiah Develops strategies and programs, in collaboration with other university partners, to serve veterans and their family members on campus. Jeremiah works on behalf of the University as the subject matter expert on veteran related topics, training, and policy. Jeremiah was named the 2019 Student Veteran Chapter Advisor of the Year by Student Veterans of America. Prior to his appointment as Director of Student Veteran Services, Jeremiah served as the Analyst/Fort Hood VA Benefits Team Lead, the Fort Hood Suicide Prevention Facilitator, Combat Medic, and 6th-8th grade Computer Sciences teacher.

Jeremiah has over 16 years of combined experience serving members of the military, veterans, and military families. Jeremiah earned a Bachelor of Science, Political Science and Master of Arts, History from Texas A&M University Central Texas. While serving in the United States Army, Jeremiah was the NCOIC of the 1-66 Armor Battalion Aid Station, 1-66 Armor Battalion Medical Readiness NCO, served two tours in Iraq with the 4th Infantry Division, was named Honor Graduate of his Army Medic training at Fort Sam Houston, was awarded 5 Army Commendation Medals, and was awarded “Hero of the Battle” twice at the Army National Training Center in Fort Irwin, CA. Jeremiah was medically retired as a Staff Sergeant in 2009.
