Evan Gutierrez is the Managing Director for Curriculum and Assessment for Gradient Learning, which is a teaching and learning program that integrates self-directed learning resources for students, teacher-directed project based learning aligned to whole-child development and learning science. Gutierrez directs the efforts of the 20+ learning and curriculum designers who build the curricular resources and assessment tools that make up the academic program. Previously, Gutierrez oversaw the academic program for Acero Schools in Chicago, which runs 15 schools to provide quality education to 8000 K-12 students. He has written for The Education Post on equity for emergent bilinguals. Gutierrez earned a BA in Jazz Performance from Berklee College of Music and traveled internationally as a sideman for latin jazz and world music artists before coming to the classroom. He earned an MBA focused on social entrepreneurship from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.
