Shivohn Garcia PhD
Shivohn Garcia is the Senior Director of Young Adult Initiatives at the National Center for Learning Disabilities, where she leads efforts to develop and implement programs that prepare young adults for the transition from high school to college and/or career.
As a seasoned educator, she has advised, mentored and taught a generation of diverse students in public secondary school and college settings through academic and co-curricular educational programs. Prior to joining NCLD, Shivohn served as Director of Innovation and Program Design with Big Brothers Big Sisters national office where she designed and managed innovative pilot programs to enable BBBS agencies to better serve youth with high academic risk, including students with learning differences and disabilities.
