Chris Wilkinson
Chris is a member of the Class of 2022 at Minerva Schools at KGI, an institution seeking to revolutionise higher education through its unique blend of interdisciplinary academics and global cultural immersion. Currently, Chris is working alongside Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School, working to create an education culture that uses student voice to challenge the school-to-prison pipeline.
Before joining Minerva, Chris received his Bachelors from the University of Birmingham in Political Science with History. Furthermore, he took a sabbatical year to work as the Education Officer in his student union. Chris worked alongside the University of Birmingham to develop strategies and policies that placed digital pedagogy and student-staff collaboration and the heart of the institution. Furthermore, he helped to establish the 'Higher Education Futures Institute', created to support academics in delivering innovative teaching and the 'Birmingham Digital Student Project': a cross-university collaborative to improve digital education.
Chris is incredibly passionate about student empowerment, innovative teaching, and digital pedagogy, recognising education as a powerful tool to create meaningful social change. He believes that educators can learn from Minerva’s methodology to inspire their students to make a positive impact in their local, regional, and global communities.
