Lalla Morris

Lalla V. Morris, a native Houstonian, is Families Empowered’s Director of Operations & Legal Counsel. Based in the Houston office, she leads the organization’s support areas of finance, human capital, information technology & data, and legal. Additionally, she supports the organization’s strategic endeavors and community engagement efforts. Prior to joining Families Empowered full time, she served the organization as an Education Pioneers Graduate Fellow. Lalla previously worked as Senior Associate of Institutional Sales at Neuberger Berman and Lehman Brothers Asset Management in New York, NY, where she marketed/sold managed investment funds across asset classes to institutional public and private organizations.

Committed to serving her community, Lalla has volunteered as a Street Law teacher and speaker on legal professions at various high schools, has served on the boards of ProUnitas and Discover U, introduces prospective students to her alma mater as a volunteer recruiter for Howard University, and is the Corresponding Secretary and technology committee chair of the Missouri City (TX) Chapter of The Links, Inc. Lalla is also a graduate of the inaugural cohort of Leadership ISD – Harris County. Lalla graduated magna cum laude with a BBA in Finance from Howard University. She also holds a Juris Doctor and Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law from Louisiana State University and a Nonprofit Finance Certificate from Rice University.
