Peter Hamby

Peter Hamby is a veteran political journalist based in Los Angeles. He is currently the host of Good Luck America, Snapchat's original documentary series about American politics. The show, which has featured major political guests including Barack Obama, Bernie Sanders, Paul Ryan, John McCain and Steve Bannon, won an Edward R. Murrow Award in 2017 for Excellence in Innovation. In addition to his work at Snapchat, Hamby is a contributor for Vanity Fair, where he writes about politics and media in the age of Donald Trump. Prior to joining Snapchat in 2015 to run the platform's news content, Hamby covered five election cycles for CNN as a producer and national political reporter based in Washington, winning multiple awards including an Emmy Award for his scoop-driven reporting on the 2012 presidential campaign. Hamby was a 2013 fellow at Harvard University's Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy, where he authored "Did Twitter Kill The Boys On The Bus?," an acclaimed study on how Twitter forever changed politics and media coverage. He currently serves on the board of the Shorenstein Center.
