Dr. Dawn Whipple is an English Teacher and self-proclaimed Public-School Enthusiast from Atlanta, GA. She was born in Stuttgart, Germany and as an Army Brat lived in Michigan, California and finally her home state of Georgia. Dawn has multiple degrees. In 2001, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and in 2004 a Masters in Mass Communications both from the University of Georgia. In 2009 she earned a Masters in English Language Arts Education from Columbus State University. And finally, in 2018 she earned a Doctorate in Curriculum Studies from Georgia Southern University. She is certified in English Language Arts for Secondary Education with a gifted endorsement. Throughout her 9-year teaching career she has encountered a diverse group of at promise youths at Title 1 middle and high schools. During her six years of teaching, Dawn has taught ELA for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade, 9th Literature and AP Literature. Dawn is in her third year at Pebblebrook High School, a Title 1 Performing Arts public school in Mableton, GA. Dawn is the proud sponsor for the PHS Debate squad and was recently awarded “Debate Coach of the Month.”
