Tim is co-founder and Managing Director of Sandy Hook Promise (SHP), helping form and launch the organization within days after the horrific tragedy. Tim initially took a temporary leave from his position as a senior executive to start SHP. He then joined SHP permanently to lead the organization and realize its vision of turning tragedy into transformation. Tim’s 20-year expertise in consumer marketing and general management gives him a perspective that is uniquely helpful to SHP’s efforts to enlist Americans from all walks of life to support the organization and its mission. Tim was a senior executive at Proctor & Gamble where he held multiple roles leading general management, marketing and product development efforts for billion dollar brands including Gillette, Oral-B and Duracell. In his last assignment, Tim lead Duracell’s $2 billion North American to a record 24 consecutive months of sales and share growth. As an avid outdoorsman, when Tim left P&G, he joined Thule, Inc., a premier outdoor sports equipment manufacturer, as VP of Product Development. Tim is best known for his strategic thinking, innovating and his approach to problem-solving. In his career, he has over 70 utility and design patents, developed strategy and positioning behind billion dollar super-brands. It is this thinking that has helped position and accelerate SHP’s national impact in such a short period of time. A native of New Hampshire and graduate of the University of Michigan, Tim lives in Sandy Hook, Connecticut, with his two children, both of whom attended Sandy Hook Elementary School. His son, Philip, was in the fourth grade the day of the shooting and, like many of his fellow students, continues to work through the events of the day.
