Lillian Nave is a reformed art historian who now teaches First Year Seminar as a Senior Lecturer at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. She is also a Universal Design for Learning Advocate/Connector/Presenter for CollegeSTAR which supports student transition, access and retention in higher ed settings. She has an undergraduate degree in religion from Williams College and a graduate degree in art history from the Clark Art Institute. Before her move to Appalachian State, she taught at Assumption College in Worcester, MA, the State University of New York, College at Oneonta, and at Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute in North Carolina. She believes that the whole student must be incorporated when teaching and therefore has immersed her students in service learning activities, study trips to New York City and guides students to Europe for foreign study.
