Razia is a Facilitator in the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Howard County Public School System. She has experience in facilitation, organizational development, and mental health. A lifelong learner, she earned her MSW from U of MD, and is currently working on an EdD from John Hopkins University. Her research interests are addressing equity, cultural competence, and social justice collaboratively with educators and students. Razia is also passionate about ending stigma about mental health in the South Asian community. She founded Counselors Helping (South) Asians/ Indians, Inc. (CHAI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing mental health concerns in the South Asian community. Education and serving the community are important to Razia. In order to have balance in her life, she draws her energy from her loving family, hikes with friends, foodie finds, and communing with nature while drinking homemade masala chai in her backyard deck “treehouse.”
