Jake Pinholster

In his role at Arizona State University, Jake works as a designer and facilitator of numerous local, regional, and national projects, including art-science-engineering-design collaborations, FilmSpark, the Arizona Creative Communities Institute, extended and professional education programs, project-/inquiry-based learning programs, and strategic partnerships with more than 30 partner organizations. As an associate professor in the School of Film, Dance and Theatre and former director of that School, Pinholster has been involved in a number of long-term initiatives that fuse technology, interdisciplinarity, and curricular innovation, including serving on the original design team for the nationally-recognized Digital Culture program. He heads two graduate programs in design and interdisciplinary digital media.

As a creative artist, Pinholster’s efforts have centered on projection and media design and technology for performance.
