Acting as the Culture & Arts Education Specialist at the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center (ESB-MACC), Lori Navarrete works with the local Latinx community to teach, engage and offer artistic & culturally relevant opportunities rooted in the Latinx experience, history, and culture. She also serves as the ESB-MACC liaison to the Smithsonian Mentorship Program, while contributing to professional development opportunities at the ESB-MACC. Lori is curator to the annual ESB-MACC youth exhibit, Figúralo; and oversee youth education programming, concentrating on social emotional learning, mindfulness and pedagogy of the oppressed. Ms. Navarrete received her Bachelors of Arts in Theatre Arts from St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas.
