Marissa Reyes
Marissa Reyes is a LEDA Scholar and is currently a student at Barnard College of Columbia University in New York City. She is majoring in Political Science and Economics, with a focus on American Politics. Marissa hopes to work with public policy after college, specifically within the realm of public education policy reform. Marissa was born and raised by Mexican immigrant parents in rural eastern Washington State, in the small town of Prosser. She has remotely interned each summer for Admission Ignition, a business that provides writing help for students in the Miami area, managed the campaign for the first ever Latina to run for a school board position in her school district, and is currently interning with the ACLU of Washington. Marissa is passionate about public education reform, fiercely advocating for equal taxation in order to solve underfunded public schools. She firmly believes in the protection of public education, and equal access to higher education.
