Cristine Pedersen
Cristine Pedersen is a Marine Corps veteran and rising first-year Master’s student at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. She enlisted in 2010, and served for five years as an Arabic linguist deploying once to the Horn of Africa in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Cristine left the Marine Corps in 2015 and began school at Georgetown as an undergraduate student at the School of Foreign Service. In 2017, Cristine was selected as both a Harry S. Truman Scholar and a Pat Tillman scholar- both scholarships for public service. Cristine has interned at the Department of State, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, the US Embassy in Kosovo, and various NGOs including Mercy Corps and CARE. Cristine served as the President of Georgetown University Student Veterans Association where she advocated for and supported military-connected students on campus, including leading the first Veteran-specific undergraduate orientation program.
