Dr. Kathryn Penzkover is a STEM education and outreach specialist in the University of Colorado Boulder’s Science Discovery department. In addition to managing the Build a Better Book project, Kathryn oversees Science Discovery’s high school programs, including STEM courses and a month-long summer research program, in which teens work with university mentors to conduct research. She also manages Science Discovery’s Portal to the Public program, in which she prepares CU scientists (including faculty, graduate students and post-docs) to share and communicate about their research with diverse public audiences. She is passionate about science literacy and developing students’ STEM identities.
