Marjee Chmiel
Dr. Marjee Chmiel is an educator, researcher, and educational media creator. She has produced and studied the effectiveness of million-dollar investments in educational media in roles for Smithsonian, National Geographic, PBS and most recently for the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. As the Director of Evaluation at HHMI, Marjee now leads efforts around evaluation, organizational learning, and effective philanthropy across the full spectrum of formal and informal science learning media both domestically and abroad. Marjee is a Fulbright Specialist, a Spencer Education Fellow, and a member of the graduate faculty of the University of Maryland’s College of Information. Through the Fulbright program she supported development of science education reform in Indonesia. At the University of Maryland she teaches graduate seminars on research methods for information science and human computer interaction. She holds a Ph.D in Education from George Mason University.
