Jan McSorley was a K-12 as a teacher and Assistive Technology Specialist for 26 years. In June 2013, she joined Pearson’s Assessment division as an Accessibility Specialist and now serves at the VP of Accessibility for Psychometrics & Testing Services. Jan has direct experience working with students with a wide variety of disabilities and understands their unique needs. Jan has a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas at Austin, with an emphasis in Instructional Technology and Instructional Design. While at Austin ISD, she obtained over 4 million dollars in grant funding that led to the development of the ATSTAR program, as well as to the creation of a very successful 1:1 computer-based instruction program for students with severe emotional and behavioral disorders. Jan believes in the capacity of all students to excel when supported with the right assistive technology and differentiated learning.
