Cathie Gillner

Cathie Gillner started her teaching career as an Early Childhood Educator for Carnegie Mellon University and then moved to an English Language Learners position at Bethel Park School District. In 1997, she began teaching Gifted Education at Kerr Elementary in the Fox Chapel Area School District. In 2003, she moved to Dorseyville Middle School and began teaching accelerated reading and language arts.

Cathie was selected as a 2014 Pennsylvania Keystone Technology Innovator and was named a 2014 and 2015 Champion Of Change. She currently teaches a course called Mobile Device. She designed this course when Dorseyville Middle School went 1:1 with iPads to acclimate students to digital learning. The course focuses on three units: Mobile Application, Digital Branding, and Creativity & Coding. Cathie also designs professional development for teachers in her school district. She has presented at TRETC, PETE&C, ISTE and numerous webinars for BrainPOP and edWeb.
