Rakshita is a senior attending a Howard County Public High School. Throughout high school, she has continued to be a part of conversations and initiatives that serve to build up the strength of diverse student voice in community conversation and action. She is the current president of her school’s Student Government Association, and, as a junior, she served as Secretary for the Howard County Association of Student Councils. As a student representative for community-focused OneHoward, she advocates for diversity and inclusion initiatives. She believes in the power of youth ideas, input, action, and collaboration to bring about change. In her spare time, she enjoys singing in her chamber choir, reading, learning about new people, discovering new music, spending time outside, and hanging out with her friends and little sister. She plans to study cognitive science in college and aims to bridge scientific concepts of learning, behavior, and thinking with work in advocating for human rights.
