Cissy Reynolds-Perez

Asst Superintendent
Board to the Texas School Safety Center

Immediately after the Parkland and Santa Fe tragedies, Dr. Perez hosted the FIRST legislative panel in a Texas High School focused on School Safety. It included several hundred students and 3 state legislators (Senator Juan “Chuy” Hinojosa, Representative Todd Hunter, Representative Abel Herrero). Over 2,000 of her students wrote letters to her at her request to share concerns and recommendations on School Safety. Dr. Perez and her students were featured on HLN-CNN and NPR. She told her students, “This is your world, and we adults need to hear your ideas on how to prevent school shootings and suicides.”

Dr. Perez has served as principal in elementary, middle and high school. She was appointed by Governor Abbott to the Texas School Safety Center Board of Directors.

She believes, “Teamwork Works” and “Faith Makes Things Possible!”
