Tamara Pearson
Dr. Tamara Pearson is Associate Director of School and Community Engagement at the Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics and Computing (CEISMC) at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Pearson received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Spelman College, with a minor in Computer Science, and a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Educational Technology from the University of Florida. Her dissertation explored perceived understanding of gender, race, and class in discussions about technology with pre-adolescent, low-income, African American girls. Her current work focuses on partnering with schools and districts to help develop innovative curriculum and programs, as well as understanding how to best engage populations historically underrepresented in STEM fields.
