Michelle Tiu
Michelle Tiu is a Senior Research Associate in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) program at WestEd. Tiu’s work primarily focuses on the research and evaluation of educational technology resources. She has extensive experience in the evaluation of ed tech tools and conducts rapid-cycle usability testing, classroom feasibility testing, and implementation studies. Tiu is the Project Director for WestEd’s research partnership with NewSchools Venture Fund’s Ignite Learning Challenges, where she oversees formative and summative research studies for ed tech ventures. Tiu has also served as the research lead for thirteen Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grants, funded by the federal government. Tiu received a BS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an EdM from Harvard University. She previously taught high school mathematics.
