Sarah Rovito
Sarah Rovito is the assistant director of Research Policy at the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU), where she manages a broad portfolio of issues essential to sustaining the excellence of public research universities. Sarah oversees APLU’s Council on Research and is responsible for policy analysis, regulatory concerns, and research promotion and advocacy. She serves as the lead for APLU’s Public Impact-Focused Research Working Group, which seeks to engage collectively with societally-responsive research initiatives, address common constraints, and inspire APLU institutions to embark upon such efforts. She is also involved with the UCLA-led Community of Practice for University-Led Grand Challenges. Sarah has an extensive engineering background, including licensure as a professional engineer, and is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
