Michael Mittelstaedt

Director of Motion Picture Arts
Interlochen Center for the Arts

My name is Michael Mittelstaedt, I am a filmmaker, educator, father and writer/director of Chasing Daylight. For the past 13 years I've had the pleasure of serving as the Director of the Motion Picture Arts Division at Interlochen Center for the Arts, translating my professional work of producing and directing in Chicago to imagining and creating a film school for talented young artists, a mentor and "executive producer" to nearly 150 short films. In 2015 I was appointed by the governor of Michigan to the Michigan Film Commission Advisory Council.
