Jumoke Hinton
Jumoke was elected to the Oakland Unified School District Board of Education in 2008 and is currently serving her third term. During that time, she has led policy work in the areas of restorative justice and equity, supported innovative programs for diverse language learners and African American female and male students, and made it a priority to ensure all students experience joy and success in their educational process. For more than thirty years, Jumoke has dedicated herself as a community builder in the Bay Area, helping lead the creation of community programs, building successful coalitions cross multiple sectors, and serving in leadership positions while investing in the success of local students and their families.
