Anita Larson

Anita has worked for nearly 30 years in county and state government and university settings first as a caseworker for low income populations and eventually moving into planning and evaluation. This work evolved into utilizing administrative data to measure program outcomes as well as provide information resources to programs to monitor effectiveness. Because the best information to improve services to children and families spans multiple programs, linked and integrated data products became the focus of her work over the last ten years in particular: initially leading an integrated data project at the University of Minnesota examining child welfare and education intersections, to her current work leading the construction and implementation of Minnesota’s first integrated data system for early care and education programs. Minnesota’s Early Childhood Longitudinal Data System integrates data from the state’s departments of education, health and human services.
